Campus blue light emergency phones

UCF is committed to the safety and security of our campus community. University Police Officer Johnny Coxum continues his monthly Campus Safety feature at the State University of New York at New Paltz. Walk close to the curb, avoid bushes and alleys where someone could hide.


A blue , flashing light will illuminate to help indicate your location and signal that immediate help is needed. These towers are located throughout campus.

The Virginia Tech shootings and Hurricane Katrina showed how effectively students can receive and distribute emergency information via text . There is no dialing or number keypad. Press the red button (some do not have red buttons and will activate immediately after picking up the receiver). The call will be answered by University .
