Copper wire in light fixture

I would connect both coppers wires together via the green screw. Twist the exposed parts of the white wires together clockwise, then screw the wire nut onto the ends. Do the same with the black ones.

Note: you might need help holding the light fixture up while you do this step. Loop the exposed part of the copper ground wire around the green screw on the mounting .

In our ceiling there are three colored wired red black and white how to fix them with the light fixture that has only two wire black and white including ground .

Learn how to connect light fixture wires correctly and with as little danger as possible in this free video.

Connect ground wires for your lights safely and securely with instru. The box must be acceptable for use with your light fixture and be securely attached to the building structure to support the weight of the fixture. The hot wire provides power to the light fixture . Match the white wire from your new ceiling light fixture to the white wire from the ceiling. Twist orange wire connectors on both sets of wires.

Connect white wire on new fixture to neutral or white wire in electrical box. White wire on fixture is connected to screw threads of fixture. When connecting stranded wire from the fixture to solid copper wire in the electrical box, . When looking at wires , black or red is the current, white is neutral, and green or copper is ground.

To make it work again, connect both of the lamp white wires to the white wire coming from the circuit breaker panel. Then connect the black wire from the panel . The bare copper wire and any green insulated wires are meant to be connected together, making it a party of three as you stated in your question. That said there is another consideration to take into account as well. You have at least two non-metallic (NM) cables coming into that box.

The ground wire often is bare copper. Follow the instructions on your tester, and keep in mind that the black wire is hot, the white wire is neutral, and the green or copper wire . There should be three wires: a white one, black one, and green one. The white wire is the neutral wire, the black wire is the positive wire, and the green wire is the ground wire.

A bare copper wire may also be used for the ground. To connect these wires directly to the light fixture , wrap the black wire around the brass screw , . Special Note: It is dangerous and is against code to connect copper to aluminum wire.
